Yes – properties within the California coastal zone can face additional review, and fences affecting public views or beach access may require a Coastal Development Permit. We check whether your parcel falls in the coastal zone before designing the fence.

For salt exposure we recommend a marine-grade powder coat (AAMA-2605) with stainless-steel hardware, which resists corrosion far better than standard finishes and keeps the fence looking new for years near the coast.

Onshore winds load up solid panels, so we use deeper footings and closer posts on vinyl privacy runs, and often recommend open aluminum pickets on the most exposed lots so wind passes through rather than catching.

Aluminum’s slim, open pickets preserve ocean views while securing the perimeter, whereas vinyl gives full privacy where you want it. Many coastal homeowners combine both – open where the view matters, solid where privacy does.
